The Apache’s M230 Chain Gun has a muzzle velocity is 2,641 ft/s.
If you take that into account you will see it takes about a just a little over a second for the first round to hit make contact at 1:24 thus the Apache was about half a mile away. They could probably hear it but not see it.

On the other hand kids tend to suffer more when it doesn’t go their way, but that is long term and doesn’t affect short term effectiveness. Listen to the audio on US infantry actions, they might as well be at a ball game, that day it’s just fun.

I just don’t get it. Didn’t they hear or see the Apache? Okay, it might not be the loudest helicopter in the world but according to the firing sound and the elapsing time ’till the rounds hit the Apache is not even one and a half kilometers away. I would at least go and have a LOOK if he’s somewhere around. I guess a dark AH-64 is not hard to see at a blue and nearly cloud-free sky, isn’t it???
i think its easy to shoot out of a helicopter or with high tech weapons.. you dont need to face the person you are killing, its not like they are doing it with their own hands, this is more like a game… thats why i think they dont get traumatic so fast, if you stab a human or just an animal with a knife you will feel it, they couldnt do that, maybe yes if its their last chance to survive but they would get brain damaged

Actually, watching alot of footage of the war, listening to the coms, it’s a lot of kids in a scary position of power who just open fire either because they are trigger happy and its easy to lie or they are extremely unsure of their target.
They asked repeatedly if what they saw was actually weapons, and no-one knew. there was absolutely NO confirmation.
Weapons or no, there was far too much uncertainty and the clearance to fire was based on the word of a single person who himself was clueless
